Progress report for Harv's Air Cadets August 14, 2003 Submitted by: Adam Penner

A very hot day, + 35 C, windy out of the south.

A fantastic day for the Cadets and Harv's Air!

Record attendance, a great group of cadets, the news media, and dignitaries made for a fantastic evening. A very proud evening for our company. Final attendance figures was over 170 guest!

Special thanks to our Provencher MP, Vic Toews, Steinbach MLA Kelvin Goertzen, deputy Mayor of Steinbach Dwight Reimer, Fred Petrie of the Manitoba Aviation Council, and leaders the from Women in Aviation.

Also in attendance where reporters from the Carillon News, Dawson Trail Dispatch. 95.1 FM, and 1250 CHSM. I'll post the stories as permission is given.

Top cadet is Whitney Fox, who got a Pitts ride the next morning!

Air Cadet Class Graduates
Harv's Air Service in Steinbach held a graduation ceremony Thursday for 15 Air Cadets. This is the second year for cadet training in Steinbach but the first all girls class. Adam Penner is chief flight instructor. He says these ladies should be proud of themselves. Penner notes they achieved a lot in a short period of time. Meantime, Air Cadet Whitney Fox from
Alberta had the highest marks in her class. Her reward was an acrobatic ride in a Pitts aircraft. She says this is just a start to achieving her dream. Fox wants to become an astronaut. Harv's Air Service will continue to train youth from around Canada in Air Cadets.
