Day 7
A short flight from Tucson, to McNeal, Arizona (Tribal Air Airport). The plan is to spend the day with Tribal Air.
Started the day with a trip to the Pima air museum and Davis Monthan Air
Force base in Tucson. After spending the morning and losing Brennan (only
for a few minutes) we were off to Ryan Field where we fueled up and departed
for McNeil. Enroute we saw Blackhawk helicopters, F-16’s, several A-10’s and
an A-4. After some excellent mountain navigation and a short discussion over
the air-to-air radio frequency about how to properly say “roger”, we landed
in McNeil and were greeted by the NTMA staff. Jeff Werley took the students
on an excellent shop tour which doubled as a ground school session on
aircraft engines. We are now spending the night in Billet homes at New
Tribes Mission aviation in McNeil.
Note: The proper method of saying “roger” was covered in a short ground
school session led by Steve once we had landed in McNeil.
Our goal is Oklahoma city tomorrow and then home.
